I attended Directors College on the 11th-13th Jan 2008. This was the first Directors specific event that I have Ever attended so I was quite unsure what to expect. On arrival at the hotel I was welcomed by some of the faculty and was instantly put at ease.

I was at the college as I have recently taken over directing the Ivy League Youth Chorus (LABBS) and thought it was an excellent opportunity to learn different directing techniques and also develop different leadership skills.

I found the entire weekend brilliant it exceeded my expectations, I came away from the weekend with positive feedback and also plenty to work on to advance my directing. I particularly enjoyed the one on one sessions with Rod Butcher my coach for the weekend. I enjoyed and am still enjoying using some of the techniques that Royce Ferguson our International coach for the weekend presented. I wish there was a way of providing more time for one on one sessions however I understand that there is only so much you can do in a weekend. So my idea would be to make the next one a week long!

I would like to thank the Harmony Foundation for the grant they awarded me to attend. I will definitely be looking forward to attending any similar future events.
