Where do I begin to describe Harmony College 2006? At the beginning
I suppose!
After a faultless journey down from Wigan, I arrived reasonably
early on Friday morning. A friendly porter handed me the keys to
my room and gave me Sat: Nav: Accuracy directions to find it. By
the time I got back to reception, there was a small queue which
was efficiently being dealt with by John's team. We collected our
"goodie bags" and headed for assembly in the big Lecture
Theatre. There it all began!
I never cease to be amazed with the development of our craft [hobby].
This year it was ably administered and explained by our returned
educational visitor from across the water, Rick Spencer
Because of my new role as Musical Director of the Chorus, I opted
for the two mini streams; Be a vocal coach and, basics of coaching.
Mark Grindall and Rhianon Owens Hall made sure everyone was comfortable
thus enabling us to get maximum benefit from both streams.

I came away from the college feeling I was far better equipped
to tackle the challenge of taking the chorus forward both musically
and technically.
May I take this opportunity to thank most sincerely the people
responsible for my securing of the BABS Harmony Foundation Grant.
My time at the College did, and will benefit me, and the chorus
immensely.
Thank You
Jim Dennett Wigan
