Value for Money ?
I should say so, for me, a positive big yes. BABS Harmony Foundation
grant to attend the 28th Harmony College - a keen student on two
of the mini streams; Being a vocal coach and Basics of Coaching.
Under the guidance of Mark Grindall, we launched into vocal coaching
- an excellent start to the weekend. "No quick fix" is
a theme that ran through the course which converted me to the Grindall
method. We found a new way of dispatching singers - get them to
lie down then get up quickly - and quartets become duos - that's
magic. Well done Mark, the method will be carried forward to quartets
and choruses. Thanks and may I say "good job".

The weekend went from strength to strength as we gathered for Basics
of Coaching under Rhannon Owens Hall ably assisted by Monica Funnell
and Tony Patman. I must admit I have a soft spot for Rhiannon because
I appreciate her direct, upfront, no-nonsense approach. The in depth
preparation from all three coaches showed through at all times and
Harmony College took off for me during this mini stream, especially
when it was my time to be let loose on Crescendo. Coaching them
was really fantastic and I would like to add a vote of thanks to
their MD Tony Chapman who worked the chorus hard on ideas we brought
to the table.
I hope that I can give value for the money invested in me by BABS
by helping all singers in return.
