As promised I am pleased to submit my report on my first "Harmony
College".
One would imagine that after 27 years, there is not left to learn
about our hobby - how wrong !! I learned more over the weekend than
I would normally learn in a year.
I discovered that at least 4 songs were totally different than
our own 'wrong rendition' !
It was good to learn so much from Mike O'Neill, good advice to
take back to my chorus.
I was pleased to be in the "Chorus Stream" with the ever
efficient Mike Taylor, my old MD from Portsmouth.
It was also good to attend Bob Walker's Woodshed session - another
'blast from the past' but still very good. And Jon Conway who never
fails to impress with his speciality classes - magic.
I found the entire weekend very hard work but so rewarding. I have
never been so moved emotionally as I was singing with the other
120 members of the big chorus, many of whom have been friends for
several years.

I look back with pride as a past chairman of Preston AND former
member of Bolton, Portsmouth, Southampton and currently of Monmouth.
My sincere thanks to Harmony Foundation who afforded me the chance
to attend by way of a grant, without which it would have been impossible.
I will certainly try and be at HC 30 next year, and as the newly
elected PRO of Monmouth will do all in my power to bully the rest
of the chorus to attend.
We are all I am sure very grateful to the teaching faculty and
the campus and technical crews who made my first Harmony College
so enjoyable and educational. I look forward to meeting up again
at Cheltenham, just up the road.
Yours in Harmony
