'Definitive' Singing Course
On Saturday 25 November 2006, BABS held a one-day Pilot Training workshop for Directors and others interested in extending their
knowledge with regard to singing courses. The aims of the day were:
- To know the key elements of a ‘Learn to singing’ course.
- To know some key teaching strategies.
- To know some key singing techniques that can be taught on such a course.
Here you will find most of the resource material that was used. The PDF files are replicas of the course material and the DOC files
are provided so that you can customise them to your own requirements. The formatting of the DOC files will depend on the setup of your computer
and the fonts you have available. A font that is used frequently is Tombola and, if you don't have that, your computer will use a substitute font
that will change the formatting.
Left click on the icon to open the document. If that does not work, right click and select "Save Target As.." (IE) or "Save Link Target As.." (Netscape)
to save the document to your computer. You can then open it from your hard drive.

A transcription of all the flip charts that were created during the day. Stuff about why people will/won't join your course and lots of stuff about good teaching technique
including establishing the right environment. Also includes a list of possible songs to use.

A pro-forma set of course notes that you can use as the handout for your students. You need to change page 1 to customise it
for your course.

The educators notes. This covers all the material in the students' course notes but to greater depth and with supplementary
information that will help the educator give a confident and knowledgable delivery. They can be used as they are (download the PDF) or
your can customise them with added material, exercises etc. (download the DOC). |

reasons why. |
