Chorus Directors Certification Scheme - Teaching Day Pilot Course

What is it?

The Certification programme for Chorus Directors includes Teaching Skills as one of the areas of competence that need to be demonstrated as a Director advances through the system. We have decided to offer a one day course in this area of the programme and it will be based on the Learn To Sing courses that have been used around the country.

We want to test out the system by running a pilot in the Midlands on Saturday November 25th in the Coventry area.

Who should attend?

The day will be primarily aimed at Chorus Directors and Assistant CD’s who are within easy reach of Coventry.

What are the Aims?
  • To know the key elements of a ‘Learn to singing’ course.
  • To know some key teaching strategies.
  • To know some key singing techniques that you can teach others.
Who will run it?

The educators for the day will be Mike Taylor, Paula Williams and Neil Watkins.

What Will it Cost?

As this is a pilot course BABS will bear all the costs of the venue and the coaches. Each person attending should bring along a packed lunch and whatever other materials/refreshments they will need for the day.
