The British Association of Barbershop Singers (BABS) is a charitable organisation with music education as its goal. There are over 2000 members in 59 clubs and over 70 registered quartets across the UK.

The annual BABS Harmony College, usually held over the August Bank Holiday weekend, is their flagship educational event. It attracts about 300 students to study all aspects of a cappella chorus and quartet performance. It is not limited to BABS members but is open to all and attracts attendees from the Ladies Association of Barbershop Singers, Sweet Adelines International, the teaching profession and from the wider world of choral music.

Browse the site to find out what's on offer at this year's college. Register on-line in minutes and then get to Nottingham for the best three days of education you'll have in a long, long time.

Ron Black - 2012 Visiting Educator

This year we welcome Ron Black to the faculty. Ron is a well known educator, singer and director, who specialises in singing coaching and improvement. Over the weekend, Ron will work with a number of different college streams.

Directing Stream

Last year the Directing Stream came back into the college. It is running for a second year, led by Neil Firth, director of the Cottontown Chorus. Open to all front line directors plus anyone who wants to consider taking on this key role for a chorus.
