General Information

What's it all about?

For the 32nd year running, the British Association of Barbershop Singers will hold their three-day Harmony College in August 2010. Primarily for the benefit of members of BABS, it is, however, open to all. Anyone who sings a cappella harmony, or any other kind of harmony, would find something of interest in it and have a wonderful weekend of music and friendship.

What is it?

It is an opportunity to sing, have fun and learn more about vocal skills, rehearsal technique, reading music, arranging, interpretation, visual aspects of performance and a host of other topics associated with performing unaccompanied vocal music.

Where is it?

It takes place on the Jubilee Campus campus of the University of Nottingham.

Here is a map of the campus and links to directions. The map on streetmap.co.uk does not show the campus (it's too new) but you can see where it is in the locality.

When is it?

It runs for three days from 8:30am on Friday 27th August 2010 to the afternoon of Sunday 29th August 2010.

How much is it?

There are a number of accommodation options. Go to the Prices page for full details.

More Information

You decide whether to enrol on a Full Stream, which will occupy your entire three days, or on two Mini-Streams, which gives you the opportunity to study two subjects but for half the time. Course information is in the Prospectus. You cannot mix Full Stream study and Mini-Stream study.

How do I find out more?

Most of the information will be available on this site. To learn about the Streams, go to the Prospectus. To find out about accommodation and prices, go to the Prices page. Visit the other pages for more general information.

The College Prospectus and Enrolment Form are available now. You can request them by email to John Ellis, by filling in the contact form on this site or download from the Downloads page. However, all the information is on this site and you can enrol and pay on-line.
