Which Course?

Choosing the right course can be difficult, especially when some of them look very similar. Try this quick guide.

You mostly want to sing or improve your own voice or performance
  • Chorus stream - you will sing a lot, in a big chorus, in much the same way as a top flight chorus would rehearse.
  • Ladies Chorus - the Chorus Stream for ladies.
  • Basics of singing - if you don’t know your larynx from your pharynx, this could be for you.
  • Discover your voice - improve your own voice with one-on-one coaching.
  • Performance II - develop your own visual and vocal performance skills.
You want to expand your knowledge.
  • Basics of singing - if you don’t know your larynx from your pharynx, you definitely need this one.
  • Be a vocal coach - learn how to recognise vocal problems and get some tools to help.
  • Basics of coaching - not specifically about singing but covers the skills you need to communicate your knowledge.
  • Basics of Directing - hand skills and non-verbal communication.
  • Performance I - get to grips with the song and develop your interpretation skills.
  • Inside Music - understand the music and expand your interpretation skills.
You want to read/understand music
You want to learn how to arrange
  • Theory of Harmony - You might need this if you don’t already have a grasp of chords and the circle of fifths.
  • Beginning arranging - you will need to know about the theory of harmony, but this is the course for you.
You sing in a quartet
  • Any of the above - would increase your contribution to the quartet..
  • Quartet Coaching - the obvious choice if you can all be there.
